F.T Island returns to Korea with a new mini-album!



After being absent in the K-pop scene and promoting in Japan for one whole year, the boys of FT Island are ready to make an official return with their 2nd mini-album, Beautiful Journey.

On the 18th, the boys revealed their album cover photo which can be viewed above. The teaser for their upcoming music video will be revealed on the 23rd, followed by the release of their mini-album and music video on the 25th. The album will sell offline starting on the 26th.

FNC Music stated, “Throughout the year of FT Island’s absence, they were able to learn more things to perform even better. Their new music will be very diverse, and fans will be able to see a more mature side of the group.”

Lee Hong Ki states that his rival is Jung Yonghwa

This year, F.T Island was not seen much in Korea as they were busy with promotions in Japan. After successfully rising to third place in Oricon charts, this idol band group plans to make a comeback in Korea with a minialbum that will be released on the 25th.

Recently, member Lee Hong Ki held an interview with Sports Seoul regarding the new album. After several questions regarding the album, he was asked about CNBlue’s leader Jung Yonghwa. In response, Lee Hong Ki answered, “He is a good friend and rival that I often compete with. Although I debuted first, I am glad that Jung Yonghwa turned out so well. It might be because I experienced living as a celebrity first, but I understand how hard it must be for Yonghwa to go through such a busy schedule.”

Additionally, regarding CNBlue in general, Hong Ki expressed, “I am glad that CNBlue is working with us to promote a band type of music. When we see CNBlue, we become encouraged to work harder. I think that it is necessary to have a friendly rival. If we get the chance again, we want to perform with them together at a concert in the future.”

Meanwhile, F.T Island plans to comeback with their new title song Love Love Love composed by Kim Do Hoon and Lee Sang Ho.

Consisting of a total of 5 songs, this new mini album, “Beautiful Journey” will show – as the title suggests – the image of these five boys’ music journey.

1. LoveLoveLove
You’ll be able to feel Lee Hong Ki’s smooth and powerful voice through FT Island’s colorful song.

2. Forever Hardened Skin..
This is a rock ballad song that reveals the pain of a hurt heart for the hardness of one who can’t forget his lover.

3. Baby Love
Combined with the fresh sound of ocean waves in the beginning and Lee Hong Ki’s sweet voice, this song shows more and more charm with its mellow acoustic guitar and repeated piano melody, harmonized with the disco rhythm of the chorus.

4. Crazy, Only You
Starting off with a piano melody, “Crazy, Only You” is a song that repetitively expresses “crazy” lyrics, a bittersweet portrayal of missing only you and waiting for only you.

5. The Song of Don Quixote
Out of all the Korean albums, this is the first song that member Choi Jong Hoon has participated in composing and thus has reason to receive special attention. A fresh guitar melody harmonized with Lee Hong Ki’s powerful voice, this song sings of the freedom and passion of Don Quixote life of hope.

Lee Hong Ki to run on Running Man

FT Island’s cute member Lee Hong Ki recently stepped into the variety world after a long time through his appearance on SBS Running Man.

During his interview with Newsen the idol revealed, “I spent the night August 23rd filming for SBS Running Man.” Hong Ki’s group FT Island will temporarily stop their promotions in Japan and start promotions in their home country Korea. Although FT Island’s official comeback stage is on the 27th through KBS Music Bank, they will film a variety program first.

Regarding his feelings about appearing in a variety program after a long time, Lee Hong Ki said, “Rather than being nervous it was awkward. Thankfully Yoo Jae Suk hyung relieves a lot of the awkwardness. Global Producer calls FT Island and CNBLUE



"FT Island and CNBLUE are the best group."

Elliot Kennedy, producer of global pop stars including Spice Girls, Celine Dion, Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow, gave a favorable comment about FT Island and CNBLUE.

Kennedy, who is visiting Seoul for Asian version Spice Girls selection project, met with FNC MUSIC CEO Han Sung Ho prior to press conference at Intercontinental Hotel on the 25th.

Kennedy has said he was surprised to hear that FT Island and CNBLUE are under the same management and CEO Han personally produced their songs. He told a friend that he wants to meet with CEO Han while visiting Kora, and was able to do so on this day.

CEO Han said "There is a spirit of life that I don't know in Elliot Kennedy's music. I remember getting much inspired listening to his songs before I made a name for myself." and expressed his thanks to the global musician for calling him out.

This September, Eliot Kennedy will gather one member representing Hong Kong, Japan, China, India, South Asia as well as Korea to finalize the 5 members for Asian version of Spice Girls.
