Hello! I'm curious to know if you have an idea of why In ha hits her chest. Cause' she doesn't always do it when she is hiccuping but other times too like when she's sad. The director always does a close up of this action too so I think their is a symbolic meaning to it possibly.
I agree with you and I think you’re right, the fact that the director even included a scene with Inha in the elevator crying about hitting her chest when she thought back of everything that happened between her and Dalpo all these years, and to realize that there was a reason for everything he did and words he said to her that she couldn’t quite explain before.
I’m not sure how much we should read into it, but when I saw it, I took it as a way to explain to the viewers the reason why she did what she did in the next episode. Inha cried and apologized to Dalpo for an hour straight, just as Dalpo narrated; when she first came up on the rooftop, the sun was just setting, when her tears finally stopped, the sun has already gone down.
I mean, when Inha is the type that when saw people slipped on the ice, she hiccuped nonstop because she couldn’t lend a helping hand, or when she couldn’t explained to her classmates that Dalpo didn’t cheat, so I can’t even start to fathom how frustrated and guilty she felt at that time.
With all these truths about Dalpo’s past slowly and surely slipping out with each episodes, I am waiting for the obstacle that will stand between these two. The classic “Romeo & Juliet” storyline where their family ties might end their romance; but 13 years is a long time, and the writer didn’t let us forget that. What I admire about Dalpo and Inha is that they don’t let one bad thing cancels out all the good thing about their relationship and each other; I would admit it’s an incredibly hard thing to do, even with family.
But who knows, the drama is still dated back in December 2013, we still have a time jump ahead of us to get to the ‘present’ time…. there might be something waiting for us… we’ll have to wait and see if what you mentioned in regards to the ‘symbol’ is true
