bianne ong, is that the hana yori the jap version? i think TW made a version of that too and the TW version was a little boring for me although i liked the jap version better..

almontel, Yokuo Kamio wrote hana yori, which was the basis for Meteor Garden, Hana Yori Dango, and BBF. i personally didn't like the jap version much, although I like Shun Oguri... and i like the TW version best, primarily because it has Jerry Yan on it, haha! And it amde me cry buckets. the BBF guys were the cutest and youngest, i think.

the Hong sisters wrote my sassy girl chun yang (which I liked at the beginning), my girl (which I also liked at the beginning) and of course YB (which I love from start to finish).

I just finished writing my own review on YB on my blog and it got me thinking. I know we all loved it but lets try to get a bit more critical. what is some of the criticisms of the drama:

Heres mine
- The whole issue with Tae Kyung and his mother, Mo Hwa Ran, was not my cup of tea.
- Mi Nyu

Favorite scenes:
-TK's birthday
-TK and MN's chat then fanmeeting
-MN's hiccuping scene in the car--so cute!! Fireworks bursting in her heart. lol
-Jeremy crying and singing on the bus
-Separation scene
-Of course all the imaginations/parodies

Criticisms (good and bad):
-The Star/moon metaphor kinda dragged out a little--don't get me wrong, I love the metaphor.
-Love how the Hong sisters twist the cliches we see in other dramas and made it their own e.g. MN falling on TK, landing on his lips---but throws up on him. lol
-Not too many draggy moments, usually followed by funny/happy moments

wow, it's quite hard to have one favorite scene, because there are just too many!

Off the top of my head, my favorites were...
1. Trip to Myeongdong. I pitied Shin Woo loads, but the smile on MN's face when she saw Tae Kyung was calling her was just
priceless.
2. When GM found first discovered the dwaegi-tokki beside her that morning, and when TK hugged it after he got 100 points.
Their reactions were identical, they were trying so hard not to giggle with sound. Hahaha!
3. All the moments where TK rejected UEE - he might have had a stoic demeanor, but he was steadfastly loyal to his girl. He
knows where his heart belongs. I especially liked the pin scene - 3,000 won. lol!
4. Without Words moment of MN - in the studio, where she burst out crying after ... I really felt for her. :'(
5. Jeremy's singing - how a person could cry so much but still sing so beautifully is a wonder to me. Loved him at that mo.
6. The discovery of the logic behind the piggy nose act, and the scene after "GMIN, i give you permission..." ohh, love!

Observations:
1. The continuity had lapses at some parts - minor editing lapses - SW turned right when from the previous scene he turned left.
GM's eyes closed when she thought TK was going to hit her, but before it landed they were open... that sort of stuff.
2. I love what they did with the songs. They only used a few songs for the whole drama, but they made new twists - bossa
version, slow, etc. As a result, the songs have been very identifiable. And I love what they did with Still as Ever... playing, then
sudden stop at that moment when GM's smile appeared and SW's faded in Myeongdong. Same with Lovely Day too when MN
found out that it wasn't TK who came to fetch her from the province.
3. There was a balance of the comedic and dramatic parts. It touched the heart in many ways.
4. oreo, i also loved the parodies and imaginations.
5. Yup, mee, another star/moon metaphor (i found myself thinking of another one). and i also liked the twisted cliches. hahaha!

that's all... for now. heehee. sorry, there are just too many to remember about YB.

By the end of this month, I will be on cloud 9 for sure.
I'm starting to count down until my Director's Cut dvd arrives along with all the extra goodies!!

jaimejks-psh, i was just thinking about that by around this time next month, we'd all be glued in front of the tv/comp screen watching our DC DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm sooooooooooooooooooooo happy just thinking about it...i really hope we'd be PLEASANTLY SURPRISED with our purchase. If i didn't go crazy over this couple, the ANJELLs, the song and everything about YB, i wouldn't have bought it...but i didn't even think twice, i had to have it....
i just hope the important parts are subbed!!!

whoah, where do i begin, like everybody else, there are toooooooooooooo many favorite scenes, each episode is special, let me see...
FUNNY SCENES:
1. the part where TK found out MN was a girl and he almost choked on his drinking water and the glow in the dark 'BALLs'
2. the part when MN's balls fell out of her pants and rolled off the floor as she completed her dancing practice
3. when Pres asked who she needs to bunk with and MN with her puffy doggy eyes was begging TK to take her in and TK's pout
4. All of the PIGGYNOSE scenes, esp when TK gasped when she called her in with his list as to why MN has to tell SW she's a girl
5. TK's jealous face when MN's best friend appeared on the scene letting her know that she liked her, I so loved TK's reactions
6. the way MN tiptoed to TK's bed to tell him to forgive her for thinking bad thoughts about him with the teaser and she got buzzed herself and fell on him to sleep
7. the face on MN, Jeremey, SW's face when Auntie touched TK's butt the morning after and TK's reaction
8. when MN sang the rabbit song to taunt TK about being afraid of the rabbit
9. the PIG chasing TK, i love how he ran and tripped, soooooooooooo funny!!! he's a natural!
10. when MN went to TK's room to apologize and she had to spit on the candle
11. the first time TK saw MN dressed as a girl and to help her escape
12. the raking and throwing of the leaves scene, TK so happy to be playing with her and her doing the piggynose right after!
13. the KISS after with fireworks above her!!!
14. the LOST Scene and they went around 5 times to the same icecream parlor place
14. The GLUE scene, i love his smile here that made MN do the pignose
15. 100 POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the FanMeeting singing FLY ME To THE MOON!!!
16. MN asleep under the piano and TK tried to pull her out from under and MN asking if she can be his fan and he said NO, you're too special to be my fan
17. MN at the bus stop trying to remember if she heard TK say I LIKE YOU!!
18 TK teasing MN about the food she likes and she started to hiccup!
19 TK asking MN to feed her while driving
20 TK running after Jeremy to get the remote control from him and MN's reaction hiding behind SW


EMOTiONAL SCENES:
1. when MN was on top of the van and TK had to run after her
2. TK pretended to throw away the RING and MN spent the whole evening looking for it, this really made me cry
3. TK's bday when he cried and MN didn't know what to do about her Star crying in the dark
4. when TK gave her the clip since he felt bad for causing her hairclip to snap and break
5. TK drove after MN when he thought she left without saying goodbye
6. TK had to calm MN when she learned of her mother passing
7. when MN was left in the countryside and she was alone looking at the stars that she has 'feelings' for TK
8. MN singing WITHOUT WORDS and the look they gave each other, TK not knowing she was singing her heart out to him
9. TK found out MN was the daughter of the guy his mother loved and he won't listen to MN's explanation
10 MOON STAR analogies, MN asking her star if it's ok to LIKE him
11. TK telling MN that it's OK to like him and they hugged right after, MN thinking she's a special FAN
11 the first KISS Scene, MN telling TK to just leave her in the dark since he's so bright he doesn't see her
12. MN saying goodbye to TK on the way to Japan and TK didn't even acknowledged her
13. the SEPARATION scenes, Aquarium and garden scenes, i felt both of their heartaches
14. TK finally realizing he can't let her leave and seeing all the STARS MN had collected
15. when MN saw TK pretending to kiss the fake fairy
16 when SW asked her to turn around so he could finally tell her he knows she's a girl and she got a call from TK
17 MN saying goodbye to Jeremy and SW at the airport in Japan
18 MN got sick and she refused to go to the hospital (perfect makeup of her looking so pale)
19. Concert scene when TK was looking for MN and asking her permission to show herself to him
20. TK finally saying 'SARANGHE' to MN and giving her the star necklace

There's sooooooooooooooooo many scenes...ALL OF them I truly love, the only boring part for me was when the ANJElls were not part of the scene, so when they're showing the mother and the aunt and the reporter and Uee..ha ha ha...sorry i'm so biased about my fave couple and the ANJELL band!!!
