MBC’s ‘Heartstrings’ will air 15 episodes instead of 16





MBC has decided that the number of episodes for its teenage melodrama ‘Heartstrings‘, starring Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye, will be pared down to 15 episodes instead of the scheduled 16.

Because of Park Shin Hye’s car accident, filming had to be postponed while she was hospitalized for treatment. Consequently, the cast and crew didn’t have enough time to shoot sufficient material, which resulted in a special montage of clips being broadcast in the place of episode 8, thus pushing back all of the remaining episodes by a day.

Instead of lengthening ‘Heartstrings’ by one day, which would’ve caused significant troubles for its follow-up drama, ‘Can’t Live Without Losing‘, MBC has decided that it would cut an episode instead, thereby allowing everything to progress as scheduled.

Meanwhile, ‘Heartstrings’ has been struggling with one-digit ratings, notwithstanding its name-value cast and directing by PD Pyo Min Soo, who also directed the hit ‘Full House‘.

I'm really really really saddened that MBC decided to cut this to 15 episodes....i was hoping we'll get the full 16 episodes and if they can't why can't they give us the last EPISODE as a YOUTUBE Special like Playful Kiss did!!! even kim hyunjoong was interviewed by CNN because they hit million views in just one episode airing...that was astronomically high!!!

i will surely miss this drama when it's over...i love how it makes me remember the good 'old' college days...the friendship, the love and hate relationships, the camaraderie between classmates from different classes...the late night outs...the going to the movies...the sneaking around...the secrets...i miss those days...and when graduation came, everyone had everyone's addresses and the promises to keep in touch...young 'uns of today are soooooooooooooo lucky, coz now they have emails and social networks...back then we dealt with snailmail...

i guess i'm just reminiscing and it was truly wonderful to look back and be a bit sentimental about the things i missed...Cherish the Moments!!!

Wow we surely feel the same way. Heartstrings made me miss my college life. You were right about everything, now I don't know what to watch when this is over since this became a habit of mine every Thursday and Friday mornings watching this while having my breakfast. It hasn't finished yet but I feel sorry and sad already. I know they tried everything to make this a hit but i still can't figure out why the koreans did not pick this up while it garnered fans from abroad. Never mind, love Shin Hye, Yong Hwa and the rest of the cast plus of course everyone that worked on the set that made this drama so pleasing to the eye and yeah love the music. Almost forgot Keun Suk because when Shin glances/looked at Gyun won with those eyes, I just melted!!!! I love how this two look like genuine friends in real life as shown in the bts. Hope they will not change like shin hyes friendship with lee hongki and not to mention JGS as we witnessed recently.

Looking forward to episode 12 and 13 and I'm hoping for more tender moments between the two leads.
