Three Meals A Day (Season 2) (ep3): Highlights...contd...
5. Seo-jinnie’s bakery: Open for Business
By Cat that watches TV
Disclaimer: Seo-jinnie will never be like Chajumma, whose first attempt at baking bread using zero measuring implements still turns out perfect. To be fair though, even though the end result is a slightly burnt baguette, it still sorta tastes like one?
The first dough turns out to be a slushy mess; Attempt No. 2 is much better. Though from my experienced pov: Seo-jinnie is treating the dough a little too nicely. (bread dough needs to be “punished” with heavy kneading and thumping and slapping before being thrown into the oven…best form of de-stressing if you envisage a person you hate as the dough)
The oven also turns out to be not as efficient as it appears. Despite looking more “modern” than Papa Yoo’s primitive stone oven, Seo-jinni’s brick oven somehow doesn’t trap enough heat. So much so that the bread takes 2h to bake, when the average time is max half an hour.
So while waiting for the baby to pop (the running gag throughout), Shin-hye prepares a quick somen (Japanese/ Korean fine rice noodles) breakfast to stave off the growling tummies.
And when the bread is — finally — done, it is slathered with home made garlic spread and Taec turns cocktail mocktail mixer again, by coming up with a strawberry soda shake.
.........The End.......
My Note
I was delighted to come across the detailed account of what transpired in the third episode of TMAD.......as we wait for the English subbing . I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I , thanks to....Cat that watches TV...
