Park Shin Hye and Shinhwa’s Dongwan Donate to Nepal Earthquake Relief
On April 30, international relief organization Hunger Saver revealed that actress Park Shin Hye and Shinhwa’s Kim Dongwan have donated towards Nepal earthquake relief.
A representative from Hunger Saver shares, “Actress Park Shin Hye, who has been a goodwill ambassador for Hunger Saver since 2011, donated 30 million won (approximately $28,000 USD) for the regions affected by the Nepal earthquake.”
Park Shin Hye’s management agency S.A.L.T. Entertainment also reportedly donated 10 million won (approximately $9,300 USD) towards the cause.
Kim Dongwan was revealed as another celebrity donor by Hunger Saver. According to a representative, “Kim Dongwan said he contacted us because he couldn’t stay still after hearing the news about Nepal, and since Hunger Saver would best know about the situation in Nepal, he donated 36 million won (approximately $33,400 USD) on April 29, asking us to use it where it’s really needed.”
Park Shin Hye previously donated 50 million won (approximately $46,400 USD) in the wake of the Sewol ferry tragedy to the Korea Disaster Relief Organization and has supported a number of Hunger Saver projects including the “Happy Home School” and “Starlight Angel Village.” Kim Dongwan has been a child sponsor through Hunger Saver since 2007.
Meanwhile, following the earthquake in Nepal on April 25, Hunger Saver dispatched an emergency relief team on April 27 that has been engaging in relief activity in Kathmandu and surrounding areas.
