I read a long time ago that even at a young age, Shin Hye would donate a lot of money to open up buildings for the needy, She has done that in Korea. I just love how charitable and humble she is despite her star status.

Teaching disadvantaged kids, building roads and raising funds in developing countries – you name it, these are some of the volunteering stints many local and international celebs have taken up, not simply to voice their cause but also add to their portfolio.

One telling sign of those who really feel for what they advocate: They never stop volunteering; it’s not simply a one-off effort. They are also not averse to getting their hands dirty, and on a regular basis, spend up to weeks in Third World countries to volunteer.

Volunteering history: Travels to African countries and Nepal to volunteer with needy kids and gives out food to the poor in Korea

Known for her roles in popular Korean dramas You Are Beautiful, Heartstrings and The Heirs, Shin Hye may have a bit of a princess image, but the Korean star is more than willing to get her hands dirty.

Carrying coal to needy families on a cold winter day? Check. Giving out food to the poor, even on her birthday? Check.

If that’s not heartwarming enough, Shin Hye has also personally bathed an African child, when she travelled to Ghana with the ‘Stop Hunger’ campaign in 2011, after she was appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador of non-profit organization Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI)). She gave out food and clothes to children living in a poverty-ridden town, where she stayed in for nine days.

How s he made a difference: Shin Hye’s dedication to charity work has greatly inspired her fans. About her experience in Africa, she once said: “I was very happy to have the chance to be a mother of a child, but it also hurts my heart a lot. They need a lot of hope, warmth and love. I wish I could give them more.”

My Note: In my opinion this is the best thing that Shinhye has done in establishing this school........it will continue to change the lives of so many children for the better in a permanent way. Education is the only way for the children of the developing countries and elsewhere for a good future but for these children it gives them the same chance we take it for granted as our right in developed countries. I am indescribably happy for the children who will benefit from this school and live a better life.......very proud of Shinhye and others doing whatever they can for the less privileged of this world.......

Just look at their happy shining faces!........
We love you even more Shinhye for establishing the school.......
