South Korean trio sweeps Udine awards


South Korea swept the main awards at the 17th Far East Film Festival (24 Apr — 2 May 2015). The results were announced after midnight this morning in Udine, Italy, following a closing gala screening of The Taking of Tiger Mountain 3D 智取威虎山.

With an average score of 4.44/5 from the audience, J.K. YOUN 윤제균 | 尹薺均's Ode to My Father 국제시장 was the most popular film. The drama traces the remarkable globetrotting journey of a man who made immense sacrifices for his family.

The runner-up awards went to LEE Won-suk 이원석 | 李源碩's The Royal Tailor 상의원 (4.40/5) .................. Lee won the audience award two years ago with his debut film, How to Use Guys with Secret Tips 남자사용설명서 (2013).

Royal Tailor also won the My Movies Audience Award, voted by users of the Italian film website.

Youn, E and Lee are former guests of the festival. Youn attended with Sex is Zero 색즉시공 (2002); E has been a regular guest since An Affair 정사 (1998) at the event's first edition; Lee has attended the event with both his films.

.............the developing friendship between Kong-jin and the Queen is charted in many engaging, elegantly-shot scenes that showcase the natural charisma of both actors...........

Congratulations to the cast and crew of the royal tailors......specially Shinhye!

This award .....second most popular film......makes up for the poor showing among the Korean audience.......it should make people rethink about it and maybe rewatch with a different eye.......
It really is very close behind the first movie ......0.04

Shinhye stature as an actress surely will benefit......that's what makes me happy.....I loved how they described her ........

Waiting for English sub before I can form my own views about it
This is why I like her in dramas because there is not a long wait ....
