Written and Video Preview for Pinocchio Episode 18

It’s time to say goodbye to Pinocchio, a drama that is on the longer prime time offering side at 20 episodes yet felt much too short at times. If this was a weekend drama about the lives of young reporters then I would have stayed on even if the overarching conspiracy of Cha Ok and Bum Jo’s mom was doled out over 50 episodes while the majority of time was spent on the everyday happenings of the rookies in covering various social interest news stories. Then the drama would have more time to include more scenes with the Choi elders like doting Grandpa and hilarious conflicted Dad.

I also miss Jae Myung a lot, being in prison cut him down to one scene an episode stuck behind plexiglass which muted his smoldering energy. Turning hyung into a murderer was great for dramatic intensity but so disappointing for viewers hoping for more of his bromance with Ha Myung. Looking ahead towards the next two days, with three episodes of Pinocchio forthcoming, I don’t have the urge to guess how the conflict(s) will be resolved and how the story will choose to close out. If I Hear Your Voice is taken as an example of this writer’s work then the ending here will be both thoughtfully reached and audience pleasing. The final episode script has been released and will be titled “Peter Pan.” Hhhhmmm, let’s all mull over that now.

The Red Shoes…..

PD Hwang doesn’t feel at ease with Ha Myung’s decision to hand over the cell phone and text message logs to Cha Ok, but Ha Myung tells him that there is another potential whistleblower. In Ha returns to MSC and keeps trying to advocate reporting on the connection between Cha Ok and Bum Jo’s mom but is repeated ignored. Cha Ok hears this news and finds Reporter Kim to assign a surreptitious investigation into Bum Jo’s mom’s connections. Bum Jo’s mom starts to get irritated by Ha Myung, In Ha, and Yoo Rae exerting pressure on her…….

Episode 18 - the Red Shoes
A fairy tale by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. The story is about a girl forced to dance continually in her red shoes. "The Red Shoes" has seen adaptations in various media including film.

A peasant girl named Karen is adopted by a rich old lady after her mother's death and grows up vain and spoiled. Before her adoption, Karen had a rough pair of red shoes; now she has her adoptive mother buy her a pair of red shoes fit for a princess. After Karen repeatedly wears them to church, they begin to move by themselves, but she is able to get them off. One day, when her adoptive mother becomes ill, Karen goes to attend a party in her red shoes. A mysterious soldier appears and makes strange remarks about what beautiful dancing shoes Karen has. Soon after, Karen's shoes begin to move by themselves again, but this time they can't come off. The shoes continue to dance, night and day, rain or shine, through fields and meadows, and through brambles and briers that tear at Karen's limbs. She can't even attend her adoptive mother's funeral. An angel appears to her, bearing a sword, and condemns her to dance even after she dies, as a warning to vain children everywhere. Karen begs for mercy but the red shoes take her away before she hears the angel's reply. Karen finds an executioner and asks him to chop off her feet. He does so but the shoes continue to dance, even with Karen's amputated feet inside them. The executioner gives her a pair of wooden feet and crutches, and teaches her the criminals' psalm. Thinking that she has suffered enough for the red shoes, Karen decides to go to church so people can see her. Yet her amputated feet, still in the red shoes, dance before her, barring the way. The following Sunday she tries again, thinking she is at least as good as the others in church, but again the dancing red shoes bar the way. Karen gets a job as a maid in the parsonage, but when Sunday comes she dares not go to church. Instead she sits alone at home and prays to God for help. The angel reappears, now bearing a spray of roses, and gives Karen the mercy she asked for: her heart becomes so filled with sunshine, peace, and joy that it bursts. Her soul flies on sunshine to Heaven, where no one mentions the red shoes.


Episode 19 - The Sun and Wind .
Aesop's Fables. The Wind and the Sun were disputing which was the stronger. Suddenly they saw a traveller coming down the road, and the Sun said: "I see a way to decide our dispute. Whichever of us can cause that traveller to take off his cloak shall be regarded as the stronger. You begin."
So the Sun retired behind a cloud, and the Wind began to blow as hard as it could upon the traveller. But the harder he blew the more closely did the traveller wrap his cloak round him, till at last the Wind had to give in despair.

Then the Sun came out and shone in all his glory upon the traveller, who soon found it too hot to walk with his cloak on.

Kindness affects more than severity.

'Pinocchio' The Appearance of a Suspicious Man, Park Shin Hye and Jin Kyung Frozen in Terror 'Appalled'

The stills of the upcoming episode 18 of the SBS Wed-Thurs Drama Special 'Pinocchio' were released.

In the revealed still, Inha was seen acting like her normal usual self while having a discussion with Song Cha Ok in the MSC newsroom. At the same time, outside the newsroom, a suspicious man wearing black clothes was seen turning the knob of door of the newsroom. Viewers are questioning this situation and wondering what is going to happen.



Along with this still, another still showing Inha's and Cha Ok's frightened appearance is capturing the attention of viewers. They are clutching each other's arms while being frozen in terror. This shows that they are comforting each other which warms the viewer's hearts a bit. However, the eeriness of the suspicious man who is watching them with a threatening look gives tension to the viewers. In addition, the fact that they are only separated by only a thin glass door increases the negativity of the situation as well as cause viewers to stop breathing because they are terrified at what terrors will befall Inha and Cha Ok.

Viewers are fearfully wondering how Inha and Cha Ok will escape.

Episode 19 text preview: The Sun and the Wind

Song Cha OK reveals all her relations with Park Rosa and all the terrors and wrongs they have done 14 years ago and the police asks for a warrant so they can investigate Park Rosa. Park Rosa asks to keep on the look out for Song Cha Ok, Inha, and Hamyeong and to prevent them from going anywhere or doing anything so that nothing happens to her (Park Rosa).

Hamyeong likes being at Gong Pil's (Grandfather) house so he lies that his arm is still not okay, but Inha finds out...

Suspense up toward the finale of ‘Pinocchio’

The still cuts of SBS drama “Pinocchio” starring actors Lee Jong-suk and Park Shin-hye was released on Wednesday amid growing attention about its final episode.

New still cuts offer some hints about the upcoming episodes. In the photos, Choi In-ha (Park Shin-hye) and Song Cha-ok (Jin Kyung) put on a fearful look on their face. And a stranger in black suit trying to turn the doorknob is also shown in the image.

“The episodes is going to be more suspenseful as there’s only three episodes remaining,” the production company of the hit series said.

A singer-turned actor Lee Joon is set to make a cameo on the upcoming episode No. 19.

“Pinocchio,” a 20-episode series, revolves around rookie journalists struggling to stay ahead in the hyper-competitive media industry.

The TV drama airs two episodes on Wednesday, and the final episode is slated for Thursday.
