Lee Jung Hwa, an editor for 10Asia (the entertainment branch of Hankyung News), has made a series of posts on Jongsuk and Pinocchio on her twitter since it started airing.
Nov 13:
'Pinocchio' doesn't even have one second of uninteresting scenes. Even the cinematography is beautiful. Lee Jong Suk has come back for real.
Nov 19:
Using imagination to draw us from the reality into a fictional world, then usjing it to draw parallels to reality… Isn’t that exactly the reason for dramas to exist? Even the lies in ‘Pinocchio’ makes its fictional world so detailed that we are glad to be drawn in by it. It’s so interesting.
Nov 20:
In ‘Pinocchio’, Inha’s dad’s (completely ridiculous) imagination is so cute! Toast kiss… because of him, we got to watch the scene well.
Dec 12:
Now that I’ve got some time, catching up on Pinocchio. The way Lee Jong Suk said, “Stop crying” in episode 10, both the intonation and way the words were said is well-done. Those words were stabilizing yet attractive.
Dec 19:
How could he be able to call back young Hamyung with one look in his eyes, just like that? Every episode, he does so well that I want to say ‘he couldn’t do any better’, yet he would outdo himself yet again. Among the actors in their 20s, he’s definitely a stand-out.
Dec 24:
'Pinocchio' writers should give Lee Jong Suk some alcohol every day. That 'ppyung ppyung'…
