Taipei, Sept. 13 (CNA) Park Shin-hye, the lead actress of the popular South Korean TV drama series "The Heirs," said Saturday in Taipei that
as a sports enthusiast, she wants to play a role in an action film in the future and would not worry about getting hurt.
Park became popular in Taiwan after starring in the Korean romantic comedy TV series "You're Beautiful" in 2009 and in "The Heirs" in 2013.
She spent four months in Taiwan filming a Taiwanese drama called "Hayate the Combat Butler" in 2011 and also made a cameo appearance in the Taiwanese version of Korean drama "You're Beautiful" in 2012.
Park was scheduled to meet fans on Sunday in Taipei, the second leg of her Asian tour, according to her agency, S.A.L.T. Entertainment.
At a press conference in Taipei Saturday, Park said she was surprised by the crowd of nearly 100 fans who showed up to greet her after she arrived at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport earlier Saturday.
That was more than greeted her when she last visited Taiwan last year to promote "Hayate the Combat Butler," she said.
Park said she was familiar with Taiwan and missed its night markets and local delicacies as well as the production team of "Hayate the Combat Butler," including the director and actors.
The 24-year-old said that as a sports buff, she hopes she can play a role in an action movie before she turns 30, adding that she didn't fear getting hurt.
Park said she will be starring in a new SBS drama called "Pinocchio," set to be aired in November. The actress will play Choi In Ha, a 20-something rookie reporter who covers local news but suffers from the very embarrassing "Pinocchio syndrome."
Pinocchio's problem was that he could not tell a lie. Every time he did his nose grew longer and everyone knew he was lying. In the drama, Choi In Ha's Pinocchio syndrome takes the form of hiccups, according to Park.
S.A.L.T. Entertainment said Park will travel to Thailand later in September and then to Singapore in October on her Asian tour dubbed "2014 Story of Angel."
The tour began in China where the actress met with fans in Shanghai on July 27, Chongqing on Aug. 2, Shenzhen on Aug. 3, Changsha on Aug. 9 and Beijing on Aug. 10.
