Lee Min-ho, Park Shin-hye to Have Romantic Encounter in “Inherits”

Photos of Korean actors Lee Min-ho and Park Shin-hye in the middle of filming an upcoming star-studded drama have been released.

The show’s promoter 3HW released through a press release Tuesday photos of the top actors participating their overseas filming session of new SBS series “Inheritors” at an almond farm in California, the U.S.

With water misting and sparkling from a garden sprinkler, Lee and Park seemed to start their romance in the masterpiece-like photos.

An official with 3HW told TenAsia that the staff and cast of “Inheritors” started oversea filming early this month and it will continue throughout this month. The filming location is being located at Malibu’s Beaches in Los Angles and around Hollywood area.

The scenes filmed overseas will be aired from the first episode till the fourth episode and there is no plan for more overseas filming at the moment, the official added.

Co-starring popular actors Kim Woo-bin, CNBLUE’s Kang Min-hyuk, f(x) Krystal and ZE:A’s Hyungsik, the series centers on love and friendship among upper-class high school students.

RPV: Expect Delays on PVDS During Film Shoot
A Korean television drama will film on a mile-long section of Palos Verdes Drive South on Tuesday.
A mile-long section of Palos Verdes Drive South will be affected during Tuesday's filming.

Motorists may encounter brief delays on Palos Verdes Drive South during the day on Tuesday while a Korean television project films a driving scene along the route, according to an alert from the city of Rancho Palos Verdes.

Filming for The Heirs—also known as The Inheritors, according to various online sources—will be permitted on Palos Verdes Drive South between Schooner Drive and Palos Verdes Drive East from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. to avoid peak morning and afternoon commute times, according to the city.

"This is just a one-day, kind of a one-shot production," said Kit Fox, a senior analyst for the RPV city manager's office and film permit coordinator. "It's actually fairly small, aside from the traffic control."

Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station will provide intermittent traffic control.

The Heirs, a television series set to premiere in October, stars Lee Min-ho, Choi Jin-hyeok, Park Sin-hye and Kim Ji-won-I. The series "follows a group of privileged, elite high school students as they are groomed to take over their families' business empires," according to HanCinema: The Korean Movie and Drama Database.

This is the only scene the project will film in Rancho Palos Verdes, Fox said.

Filming will not conflict with construction activity on the San Ramon Canyon or California Coastal Trail projects, according to the RPV Department of Public Works.

Not be outdone in the romance department, the second lead makes a showing in Heirs: He Who Wishes to Promote the Longest Wins the Crown. Here’s Kim Woo-bin’s first encounter with Park Shin-hye, over instant ramyun at a convenience store. I’m sensing a theme here. Is this the rich kid who doesn’t act like a rich kid? He washes dishes when he owns the hotel, and eats cup ramyun like the plebeians?


Apparently his character is a geeeeenius chaebol. Oh, the lulz. He has a 150 IQ and is the heir to a hotel conglomerate, and he’ll be giving Lee Min-ho a run for his money when it comes to making Park Shin-hye swoon. I won’t pretend that watching Kim Woo-bin and Lee Min-ho play No I’m Hotter, No I Am isn’t the reason I’ll be tuning in. It’d be great if he could be a socially awkward geeky genius like his buddy Hong Jong-hyun was in Vampire Idol, but that’s probably asking for way too much quirk in a drama that’s not going to veer off-course even a little.

Below are Krystal and Kang Min-hyuk, who will have their own rich-girl-poor-boy loveline. He’s Park Shin-hye’s friend and she’s Lee Min-ho’s ex-girlfriend, but hopefully they’ll just stay in their own cute side story, and not let her turn into a meddlesome ex. I can’t imagine I’ll get what I want in that scenario, but I’m in a hopeful mood.



Heirs follows Master’s Sun and premieres October 9.
