MBC 수목 미니시리즈 <넌 내게 반했어>(극본 이명숙ㆍ연출 표민수)는 18일 방송되는 15회를 끝으로 막을 내릴 계획인 것으로 알려졌다. 당초 16부작으로 기획된 것을 감안하면 1회 분량을 줄인 셈이다.

<넌 내게 반했어>는 지난달 18일 주연 배우인 박신혜가 교통사고 후유증으로 입원 치료를 받으면서 녹화가 지연됐다. 결국 지난달 21일에는 8회 대신 스페셜 편을 방송했다. MBC 관계자는 "당초 MBC와 제작사는 16부 분량을 만드는 것으로 계약을 맺었다. 15회로 종영돼도 스페셜 방송을 포함하면 계약 기준을 맞췄다고 볼 수 있다"고 말했다.

<넌 내게 반했어>의 후속작인 <지고는 못 살아>(극본 이숙진ㆍ연출 이재동)는 24일 방송될 예정이다. MBC의 내부 편성표 상에도 24일에 <지고는 못 살아> 1부가 방송되는 것으로 표기돼 있다. <넌 내게 반했어>가 18일 15회를 끝으로 막을 내리게 된다는 것을 간접적으로 알리고 있다고 볼 수 있다.

<넌 내게 반했어>는 방송 초반부터 표민수 PD가 다른 PD에게 메가폰을 넘긴 데다 대본을 둘러싼 잡음이 끊이지 않았다. 제작진의 불협화음 때문에 정용화 박신혜 등 제 몫을 다 한 배우들만 애꿎은 상처를 입게 됐다. MBC의 한 관계자는 "정용화와 박신혜는 몸상태가 좋지 않은 상황 속에서도 밤샘 촬영을 이어가며 주연으로서 역할을 다 했다. 두 사람의 열연 덕에 드라마가 조금씩 활력을 되찾고 있다"고 설명했다.

[Breaking News] “Heartstrings” Will be Cut Down to 15 Episodes

“Heartstrings” drama is expected to be shortened.
It has made been known that MBC Wed-Thurs mini series “Heartstrings” (writer Lee Myung Sook, PD Pyo Min Su) is planned to end with 15 episodes on Aug 18th. The drama was originally scheduled for 16 episodes but MBC is considering to cut it down by 1 episode.
After the leading actress Park Shinhye’s accident last month on July 18th, she was admitted to the hospital to receive treatment and because of it, the filming was temporarily halted. As a result, instead of airing episode 8 on July 21st , a special episode was broadcasted to replace it. MBC officials stated,”The contract between MBC and the production company was originally 16 episodes. Although it ends with 15 episodes, if you include the special episode, it still meets the contract.”
“Heartstrings” will be replaced by a new drama “Can’t Lose” (writer Lee Sook Jin, PD Lee Jaedong) and is expected to start airing on Aug 24th. It is also has been noted that on Aug 24th the 1st episode of “Can’t Lose” will be aired in the MBC TV guide. It is indirectly saying that“Heartstrings” will end on Aug 15th with 15 episodes.
The criticism surrounding “Heartstrings” from Pyo Minsu PD leaving the directing to another PD and also the script never stop. Because of the discordant in the production crew, the actors like Jung Yonghwa and Park Shinhye are having their share of loss. MBC’s official said, “As the lead actors, Jung Yonghwa and Park Shinhye still filmed throughout the night even when their body conditions are not well. But thanks to their enthusiasm, the drama can regain it’s energy.”

[FOLLOW UP News] No Discussion Has Been Made to Cut Down “Heartstrings” to 15 Episode

Upon receiving the news that “Heartstrings”will be cut down to 15 episodes, representative from the MBC Wed-Thu drama “Heartstrings” revealed that nothing is yet to be determined.
“Heartstrings”representative on Aug 3rd through conversation with OSEN said, “The news saying that it has been decided to be reduced to 15 episode is not true, it has not been discussed yet. The contract is originally for 16 episodes.”
Adding on, “Due to Park ShinHye’s injury, one special episode was broadcasted but so we are trying to figure out on how to do the extra one episode so that it can end as 16 episode,” he said.
Furthermore, “There might be changes in the future, but nothing has been discussed yet. I hope the viewers are giving much interest to Jung Yonghwa and Park ShinHye’s blooming romance.”
Meanwhile, Park ShinHye was involved in a car accident on the 19th of July. Due to this,“Heartstrings”was not able to film and a special episode was broadcasted instead of the regular episode.

Basically MBC is planning to cut down Heartstrings by 1 episode, and the drama staff is saying otherwise. In my opinion, MBC does have a point when they said that they are following the contract. Furthermore, there’s a new drama waiting in line after Heartstrings ends, so it’s going to be hard to adjust the station’s schedule if they were to air Heartstrings.
