Actress Park Shin Hye showed off her skill at cooking at her first solo fan meeting in China, which was held in Shanghai, on May 18. She made gimbap and introduced it to the Chinese fans. Wearing a beautiful apron, Park put the gimbap together using such ingredients as laver, rice, cucumber, carrot, ham, and shrimp in a calm and orderly way on the stage. Fans shouted for joy and marveled at the sight of her making the food so expertly.

The MC admiringly said, “Park Shin Hye’s kitchen skills are incredible.” Park replied, “I often cook at home when my mother is out. I’m especially good at making bean-paste stew (doenjang jjigae) and chicken roast (dak bokkeumtang).”

A highlight of the program was Park going out into the audience to feed her fans gimbap herself. The fans who got to try her gimbap showed great appreciations, and the other fans shouted out of envy.

Park’s agency, S.A.L.T. Entertainment, says, “We were surprised at great attention and support that Park Shin Hye’s first solo fan meeting in China got. Fans followed her every move, from her arrival at the airport to the end of the concert. Her recent appearances in Miracle In Cell No.7 and Flower Boy Next Door are drawing attention just because she’s in them, even though they haven’t been officially released in China.”

Park has been cast in SBS’s new drama series To Wear the Crown, One Must Bear the Crown – The Heirs, by writer Kim Eun Suk, who is well known for such series as Lovers in Paris, Secret Garden, and A Gentleman’s Dignity, Lee Min Ho has also been cast in thist promising work.
