JUNG Ji-woo became a star short film director with <A Bit Bitter>(1996), which was produced by an independent film production, Generation Blue Films, and achieved both box office success in Korea and film festival honors overseas with his feature debut, <Happy End>(1999). A crime-of-passion melodrama so unprecedentedly bold, the movie could not cast any actress for the leading female role until [JEON Do-youn] came along. The movie was also an important turning point in her acting career.

<Blossom Again>(2005) was a less bold melodrama that starred [KIM Jung-eun] and [JUNG Yu-mi], which still showcased JUNG’s sensible directing skills and his sensitivity, while <Modern Boy>(2008) was the director’s challenge to the genre of historical suspense.
JUNG also worked on the screenplay of [KANG Woo-suk]’s <The Moss>(2009).

In 2012, JUNG burst back onto the scene with the literary and Lolita-esque drama <Eungyo>, which introduced KIM Go-eun to the world and featured PARK Hae-il playing an old poet. Three years later, he premiered his competitive sports drama <Fourth Place> at the Busan International Film Festival. close

It's a stepping stone for her to Grand Bell. Working with a veteran like CMS is an honor and she could learn loads and bring herself (and her acting) to a higher level. I feel that her decision to act in Doctors was a really good one. From this drama Directors, other actors and even fans (plus haters) see her in a different light for that she was offered this role.

The role Park Shin Hye is offered for the movie is the defence lawyer of the daughter. It is the most important female role in the movie as can be seen in the "Silent Witness' posters below....

Park Shin Hye Considering Role In Thriller Alongside Choi Min Sik

Actress Park Shin Hye is in talks to star in the Korean remake of the Chinese film “Silent Witness.”

She is considering one of the lead roles and has met with the director Jung Ji Woo and producers to discuss the offer. But nothing has been confirmed yet, her agency emphasizes, and she will first focus on her new drama “Doctors.”

“Silent Witness” is a crime thriller about an influential businessman’s daughter who becomes the murder suspect of his father’s fiancee. Choi Min Sik is confirmed to portray the businessman, while Park Shin Hye is in talks for the role of the daughter’s lawyer. The production team is currently searching for a rookie actress to play the daughter.

The film is expected to enter production later this year.

Sorry to inundate with this news but am truly happy and excited just to think that Shinhye might appear in this project.

Firstly this is a huge leap forward as an actress career wise.
Secondly, This is her first female lead in films
Third, she could not work with a better team of actors and director of excellent standing and projects behind them.
Fourth, she will come out much richer in experience.
Fifth, she will get out of the image people have about her only being fit for light fluffy roles.....and will start taking her seriously. Although Doctors and earlier Pinocchio have already shown her shift towards meatier roles with substance,,,,,

So yaaay! I am one happy follower!
