Park Shin Hye Says ‘You’re Beautiful’ Saved Her from Acting Slump

Park Shin Hye talked about having fallen into an acting slump in the past.

image_2013-12-18-3.jpg

During the press meeting, which took place on December 17 in Shinsa-dong, Park Shin Hye said, “If I compare myself to ‘Eun Sang’ from The Heirs, I also had a lot of concerns when I was 18 years old. I think that’s when I fell into an acting slump. I hated being called a ‘child actress’ and felt a lot of pressure.”

“I wanted to transition into being an adult actress naturally, but only received comments saying that I looked unnatural acting roles that were much older than I was,” continued the actress.

“So when I started college, I decided to focus on my studies instead of on acting. But at the time, Go Ara, Kim Bum and Kim So Eun, who were around the same age as me, started acting widely in various projects, which made me doubt my decision.”

Park Shin Hye then shared how she was able to overcome the difficulty.

“I was falling deeper into the slump, doubting that anyone would cast me or that I could ever act again, when I was offered a role in You’re Beautiful, a drama in which I was able to act alongside people my age and brought out the strengths I had as an actress.”

Meanwhile, Park Shin Hye recently starred in the SBS hit The Heirs, becoming one of the representative Korean actresses still in her twenties.

I seemed to have created confusion by posting articles about possibility of Shinhye acting in movies. They are both different movies. There is no confirmation on either one or both from her agency. Maybe it will be just one. If she acts in both.....I highly doubt she will find time for drama next year. Let's wait and see for news from her agency.

Park Shin Hye, “It Is Difficult To Be Loved As An Actress In Korea”

Actress Park Shin Hye reminds all of us of the eighteen year old Cha Eun Sang in the recently ended SBS Wednesday Thursday drama "The Heirs," which aired its final episode on Thursday, December 12, 2013.

Park Shin Hye said in an interview, "I felt sympathetic toward Cha Eun Sang and the issues she had."
Park Shin Hye added, "I fought with my mother a lot when I was eighteen years old, and had a lot of issues with friends as well. 'Cha Eun Sang' was similar with me at that age. It was challenging to act her out because it felt as if I was reliving those times."

Park Shin Hye then said that when she was Cha Eun Sang's age, she was going through a slump.
"I felt anxious a lot. I did not like the title, 'child actress,' and thought a lot about how to come back as an adult actress. So I played roles that seemed more mature than my age. Some looked awkward, and some criticized that I was wearing the clothes that did not fit."

Park Shin Hye then said, "It is a difficult thing to be loved as an actress in Korea. In the world of entertainment field, there are
new faces coming out everyday.
I continued to think about why there was something lacking to my charms."

My Note: Every new face does not receive the kind of love that Shinhye has. It's a wonder that she is so humble and was insecure when younger and does not realize the qualities that make her stand out among the multitude of entertainers and artist. It's her personality and nature that keeps her shining like a star. She is never boring and always doing and trying out new things. No matter how many new faces that I like ........and I do , but am never tempted to find out more about them. You are one of a kind, Shinhye and we love and admire you for it.

It saddens me to think that Shin Hye is so self-conscious. She is such a true person - naturally beautiful. humble. charitable, caring - qualities that only a handful of actresses possess.

I don't think Shin Hye was ever in an acting slump. I just think that her company never picked the best roles for her so she was unable to show the true ability of her acting skills. I also honestly believe every single actor will encounter slumps in their career.

It is rather unfortunate that Korean audiences are rather superficial. I definitely think actors are much more easily loved and actresses always get criticized and scorned and ridiculed. It is really sad. However, I think that if Shin Hye continues on her road to fame with her sincerity and earnesty, she will be loved by all age groups and gender. She is truly an amazing person and actress! I have never followed or cared so much about any other Korean actresses.

Park Shin Hye tells fans to guard against catching a cold

image_2013-12-20.jpg

Park Shin Hye recently updated her Weibo account on December 19th, where she gave a piece of friendly advice to fans while addressing them.
She said, “I had an interview at a coffee joint in China. The Americano is so tasty. All my schedules are done, it’s time for dinner. The weather is Beijing is so cold, everyone please don’t catch a cold.”

Park Shin Hye also shared a photo along with her post, where she is seen sporting a black top while posing with a smile for the camera. Despite her tight schedules, Park Shin Hye continuously approached them with an outgoing and energetic attitude, and showed her professionalism.
She recently starred in the SBS TV drama ‘The Heirs’ as the ‘heiress of poverty’, Cha Eun Sang, and had a romance with the future heir of the Empire Group, Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho).

I am rather okay with the fact that PSH is so self conscious. I think that is what makes her who she is: caring, humble and a beautiful person inside and out. Because she is self conscious she is always willing to change, improve, try new things. I am so glad she is not conceited nor arrogant because an arrogant person might be beautiful on the outside but ugly on the inside. An arrogant person thinks there is nothing wrong with them thus there is not reason to change or improve. I am so glad she is able to look at her herself and say I could do better because I think that is why we love her: her beauty shines from within.
I agree with you that she is an amazing person and actress and wished that she continues to be recognized by the media not only outside her country by inside too.

The Top Ten Female Kdrama Characters Of 2013

t's hard to separate the top ten characters from the actresses who played them because without an actress to breathe life into a character it's just words on paper.

But, given that, here are the female characters we liked a lot in 2013 and why.

She saw ghosts. Ghosts tortured Tae Gong Sil in "The Master's Sun" but she managed to overcome her fears and help both the living and the dead. Gong Hyo Jin played her with comic flair. She was all aegyo when she asked So Ji Sub to sleep with her, strictly to keep the ghosts away.

She had flaws. Jang Hye Sung in "I Hear Your Voice" was a great character for all her flaws. Idealistic but lazy and selfish, she becomes a better person as the drama progresses. Played by Lee Bo Young, you can't help but like her no matter how flawed she is.

She slept in her coat. Go Dok Mi in "Flower Boys Next Door" slept in her coat and still managed to have cute flower boys in love with her. That takes talent. Park Shin Hye made an adorable reclusive writer.

She created a new persona. Lee Seo Yoon a.k.a. Zoe Lou in "Missing You" was a glamorous shell of a woman. Played by Yoon Eun Hye, Lee Seo Yoon created a new persona for herself but it never completely veiled the terrors of her past.

She was bad. Seo Mi Do in "When A Man Loves" was a character viewers loved to hate. Kdrama viewers like a love triangle but when this character, bravely played by Shin Se Kyung, dared to date both men, viewers called her a player and worse.

She was so robotic viewers wondered if she was human. Park Bok Nyeo in "The Suspicious Housekeeper" was mysterious. Actress Choi ji Woo created a character whose robotic behavior was animated by terrifying memories.

She was pitiful. Kang Yoo Jung in "Secret" has to be the most downtrodden character in this year's dramas. She sacrificed and sacrificed without reward until she finally had enough and fought back. She's a classic kdrama heroine but, played skillfully by Hwang Jung Eum, the character had viewers waiting patiently for her revenge.

She was brave. Not only can Dam Yeo Wool in "Gu Family Book" fight like a man, but also the character is willing to throw her lot in with a guy who is half-gumiho and could kill her. Suzy Bae's character she was both a worthy opponent and someone you wanted to protect.

She protected others. Empress Ki has Dam Yeo Wool beat. She can also fight like a man but is skilled at uncovering palace intrigues. Played by Ha Ji Won, the character does everything she can to protect those around her. Power means nothing to her unless he can use it to do good.

She was refreshing. Han Se Kyung in "Cheomdamdong Alice" is a refreshing character. She doesn't start out wanting to be a Cheomdamdong wife, but when she finds that's what's needed, she does what it takes. Moon Geun Young's portrayal was honest and true.

The History Of Park Shin Hye's Kdrama Kisses

Park Shin Hye recently spoke about her onscreen kisses with Lee Min Ho in "The Heirs." She mentioned being surprised in one kiss scene when she thought they were not going to touch lips only to have the director say that they were really going to kiss that time.

"I was really surprised," she said. "While we were shooting the scene, I grabbed Lee Min Ho's clothes. That's because I was so surprised and you can see it in the shot too."

She said that she does not have a lot of experience with drama kisses but if you look through her kdrama history, she has kissed enough stars to arouse most women's jealousy.

And fans may note that she often looked surprised when she was kissed in a drama.

Park Shin Hye began acting at age 10 in "Stairway to Heaven" and has slowly transitioned to more grown-up roles. So she was already a veteran actress before she had to have her first onscreen kiss at age 16 with singer Se7en.

He was the first of many idols to kiss her

Her next kisses took place the same year in the drama "You're Beautiful." It started off with the kiss/bite that she drunkenly plants on Jang Geun Suk in an early scene. But then the kisses became less painful and more romantic. Clips of her filming their kissing scene on the balcony show that the stars were both a little embarrassed by their encounter and joked around to disguise it. When he finally kissed her, her eyes remained open for a long time. She often keeps her eyes open as if in shock when she gets kissed, although many women might have that reaction to being kissed by Jang Geun Suk.

In "Heartstrings," CNBlue's Jung Yong Hwa, her "You're Beautiful" co-star, gets another chance to win her heart. But when he first had to kiss her onscreen he got so embarrassed that he needed encouragement. She has said that her "You're Beautiful" co-stars thought of her as a little sister.

Her best kdrama kissing scene took place earlier this year in "Flower Boys Next Door." Her kisses with Yoon Si Yoon included an accidental kiss, which also shocked her enough to keep her eyes open. But her best kissing scene ever may be the end of that comedy when she seems quite enthusiastic. But then she said prior to that drama that Yoon Si Yoon was her ideal type.

Her kiss scenes with Lee Min Ho's character in "The Heirs" seemed to catch her off guard again. But that fit into the plot, as his character was aggressive and hers was fairly passive. They had a sampling of kisses, including the donut kiss and the rooftop kiss.

So far she has received kisses from Se7en, Jang Geun Suk, Jung Yong Hwa, Yoon Si Yoon and Lee Min Ho. And she's only 23. She has a long career of kisses before her.
