Chapter 20: The Birthday Present


Geun young told him everything about the revenge thing.

“So that explains everything” he sighed in relief.

Geun Suk runs immediately after hearing it

“yah! Where are you going? It’s already time for class?” Geun Young shouted

“I’ll skip class. I have something to do” He smilingly said then he runs again.

“hope for your happiness,oppa” Geun young whispered

Shin Hye is talking to Geu Rin when someone pulled her arm.

“what are you doing?” she asked

Then she let go of her hand and turned back to Geu rin.

And she was surprised when geun Suk carried her on his shoulder.

“yah! What are you doing, it’s embarrassing” She complained

“Put me down” she added

“There’s no way I’m going to let you go” Geun Suk said

Then he put her inside the car.

“Where are you taking me?” Shin Hye asked while looking outside the window.

Geun Suk ignored her.

“yah! Stop the car” She commanded

“I will not” he said

“who said that I want to go with you?” she said

“you don’t have a choice” he said

‘it’s kidnapping” she said

“do I look like a kidnapper? Besides I’m your fiancé” he smilingly said

“ah.. really?” she sarcastically smiled back.

Geun Suk stopped the car in front of Seoul Restaurant.

“Let’s go” Geun Suk said

“I don’t want to” she snob him.

“do you want me to carry you again? Here with so much people?” Geun Suk threatened.

She looked at him “pabo!” she said then she stepped out of the car.

Geun Suk smiled and gently holds her hand

“why did you brought me here?” She asked.
They’re inside the elevator; she’s too far from him.

“Do you want me to remember the time I waited here for you” she added

“You’re talking too much” Geun Suk said instead.

She pouted and “oh you just figured out that you’ve got a noisy fiancé?” she sarcastically said.

Geun Suk ignored her.

And when the elevator door opens on the roof top of the restaurant, she was surprised.

She didn’t expect what she’s seeing..

The place is surrounded with rose petals; a table for two is in the middle. And there are balloons too; tarpaulin is hanging between the balloons saying “Happy birthday and I’m sorry” There are also birthday cards hanging, a sweet music played by the violinist, who’s standing beside the table.

all can she say is “wow”.

“It’s supposed to be on your birthday, but as you know something came up” Geun Suk said

“and do you think by doing this you’re going to be forgiven?” Shin Hye said

Geun Suk smiled and holds her face then he kissed her on her forehead.

”stop pretending already” he said

“what?”

“I already knew that you’re just pretending to be cold, I learned my lessons now, so stop it” Geun Suk said

“so you knew, am I not good in acting?” she asked

Geun Suk smiled and “actually it’s the opposite, you’re really good that I believed and got hurt” he said

“Then how did you…”

Before she can continue, Geun Suk’s lips already sealed hers.

“hmm.. I missed this” Geun Suk teased

“Pabo” she smiled

They’re now eating while listening to the music. Then a guy came and gave her a bouquet of flowers.

“hey, how many people you hired to do this?” Shin Hye asked

“what do you mean? I made these by myself” he said

“really? But you’re always with me” she confusingly said

“not a while ago”

“you mean, you skipped class?” she asked

“yes” he said

“what are those cards?” she’s talking about the hanging birthday cards.

“why not see it for yourself” he said

She stand up, and picked the three cards that stand out over the others and read it.

“hey girl, happy birthday. Wish you all the best. It’s The first time that we’re not together right on your birthday. Anyway I wish for all your happiness. Love you girl. God bless. Yuki”


“Happy happy birthday. Wishing you a Happy Birthday and many more to come. Love you and take care.
P.S you’re so lucky with your fiancé, it’s still two weeks to go before your birthday but he already asking for our birthday wishes for you. Yue”

“Hi sis. Happy birthday. I’m really fortunate to have a sister like you. Wish that all of your dreams will come true.This card is sent with warm wishes and loving thoughts. Love you sis. Ha Mi”


Tears fell down on her cheeks after reading their messages.

“thank you” she said to Geun Suk

Geun Suk smiled

Shin Hye is so happy. She can’t explain her feelings but she believes that she’s the luckiest girl in the world. As they went home, they sit outside in the terrace. Geun Suk’s hand is around her shoulder, and her head is on his chest.

“Thank you. I’m so happy” she said

“I’m sorry that it’s a late celebration” he apologized

“no, it’s okay. Really.” she said

“I have something to ask you?” she asked

“go on”

“how many times did I entered in your mind?” she asked while looking at him

“I’d be lying if I say many, because you entered only once” he paused

“and since then, you never came out” he added

Shin Hye smiled.

“I have something to ask you too” he said

Shin Hye didn’t responded

Geun Suk look at her, she’s already asleep.

“how much do you love me?” he said though he knows that she can’t hear it anymore

“I love you very much Geun Suk oppa” she sleep talked

Geun Suk smiled and kissed her

“goodnight” he said

They both fall asleep while sitting outside, in the terrace..
