Chapter 7

"SHIN HYE!?" two voice pops out that made shin hye's eyes widened and scared as hell.

"wh-...who...who...who is there?" shin hye called out while her body keeps shaking.

"wait...the piano stops when shin hye..." donghae thought.

"donghae! yong hwa'ssi! what are you doing here?" shin hye asked nervously.

"maybe we should ask you the same thing, shin hye" donghae said.

"i just...left my...books upstairs.." shin hye said as she pretends to smile.

"is that so? then should we get going?" yong hwa asked charmingly.

"o-...of course!" shin hye said with nervous thoughts.

donghae looks at her confusingly that he sense something very odd about her. It's obviously that she was hiding something when she talks to us.

"yong hwa'ssi, thank you for driving me home." shin hye thanked him. yong hwa looks at the house with disappointed face.

"shin hye'ssi....is this your...house?" yong hwa asked.

"we're living in our apartment." shin hye said that made him dissatisfied.

"you're...the new...commoner the principal's been saying about?" yong hwa asked.

shin hye looks down at him and became speechless.

"does anyone in our school knows about this?" yong hwa asked peculiarly.

"me and donghae are close so his the only one who knows about this." shin hye said that made yong hwa a bit jealous.

shin hye was about to leave but yong hwa held her hand.

"whenever you need help, you have to tell me first before donghae'ssi, arasseo?" yong hwa said.

shin hye nodded.

"i don't think we should speak formally now. let's try to get along shall we?" yong hwa said.

"i understand. be careful on your way home." shin hye waved goodbye to yong hwa.

yong hwa didn't realize that geun suk was on the corner of the streets watching them as they became close.

"shin hye! shin hye! let's eat at the roof!" donghae yelled that made yong hwa heard it.

"ah-...Shin hye!" yong hwa called that made everybody look at him including the other A4 members and shin hye and donghae.

"what is it, yong hwa'ssi-...i mean yong hwa?" shin hye asked.

"can I come with you two?" yong hwa asked that made shin hye and donghae look at each other.

"waaahh~ it's so refreshing here!" shin hye yelled when they got to the rooftop.

"are they always alone here?" yong hwa thought.

"yong hwa! come here!" shin hye dragged yong hwa to feel the breeze.

"isn't it refreshing?" shin hye asked.

while shin hye closes her eyes to feel the wind on the center of them, dong hae on the side and yong hwa on the other side and they both look at shin hye.


"let's eat, shin hye." donghae called which shin hye opens her eyes.

"oh yeah...yong hwa! let's eat!" shin hye said.

"shin hye!" a voice pops out from the back of shin hye.

"who are you?" shin hye asked.

"you don't know me?" so eun asked curiously.

"ah-..ahhh. you're Kim So Eun'ssi." shin hye recognize her.

"you don't even know me that much, but why do you know oppa so much." so eun threatened.

"what are you talking about?" shin hye asked looking confused.

"i have been watching everyone who is flirting with my oppa and got rid of them easily but whenever you are with my oppa... *sigh* do you even think you're gonna take him away from me?" so eun said.

"I don't understand.." shin hye murmured.

"don't play with me! yong hwa oppa is mine!" so eun said.

shin hye got scared just by looking at her then suddenly yong hwa was walking towards them.

"so eun, do you know her? it's so good that you guys seem close." yong hwa said.

"she's adorable oppa!" so eun said.

"well geun suk and the others are waiting for you so we gotta get going." yong hwa reminded.

"arasseo oppa" so eun said.

"see you later shin hye" yong hwa said that made so eun more mad at shin hye.

"ah-...see...y-..you" shin hye said while her mind keeps coming out with what so eun said a while ago.

shin hye stood still in the corner as she didn't notice that donghae has been spying on them since so eun went to her.

"so eun is like that?" donghae thought.

"yah. where is shin hye?" yong hwa asked donghae.

"she told me that she doesn't feel good and needs to be at home today." donghae said whle looking at yong hwa uneasily.

"she told you? she didn't even told me?" yong hwa thought.

"shin hye, rest for today. you've been tired all this while." her mom said.

"ye, eomma" shin hye confirmed.

shin hye's mom touched her head and realize that she has a high fever like for no reason.

The next day, shin hye didn't even talk once and she didn't join donghae to eat at the rooftop which makes him and yong hwa worry. she eats her lunch by herself and always looks down whenever she passes the A4 especially when she sees so eun. Donghae tries to talk to her but suddenly...shin hye bumps on geun suk accidentally that made her food spill all over geun suk.

"yah! why are you so clumsy!?" geun suk yelled at her.

"joesonghabnida. i'll clean it up for you." shin hye apologized.

donghae and yong hwa are on the way but soo jin runs up to shin hye and geun suk.

"shin hye, you don't have to do this. I'll take care of it." soo jin said while standing up shin hye.

"oppa! she just got sick yesterday and you'll treat her like that!?" soo jin said to him.

"who cares?" geun suk said.

"apologize!" soo jin said.

"soo jin'ssi...it's alright..you don't have to tell him that." shin hye said as she left feeling sad as ever.

"is she really that sick?" geun suk thought feeling concerned.

"tsk. why am i like this? I don't care whether she's sick or not! why do I even feel so concerned?" geun suk thought.

"still...is she alright?" geun suk thought while rubbing off the foods from his shirt.

"eomma! I'm home!" shin hye called.

"I told you shin hye that you still need to stay at home until you feel better. look what happened, you got worse." her mom scolded.

"mianhaeyo, eomma." shin hye apologized looking exhausted.

*sigh* "go upstairs and rest. I'll bring up some porridge for you." her mom told her.

"arasseo, eomma"

RING! RING!...RING! RING!

"who could have been calling in this kind of hour?" shin hye's mom wondered.

"yeoboseyo?"

"annyeonghaseyo, may I talk to Miss Park Shin Hye please?" a guy from the phone answered.

"shin hye is sleeping right now, but i'll just wake her up that someone wants to talk to her."

"I don't want to tell this ahjumma that she's such a fool for going to school even though she still doesn't feel too well and saying sorry that I shouted at her at school." the guy thought.

"uhmm..I just wanted to ask when she will get better so she can go to school."

"awww...it's so sweet that shin hye's friend is actually so concerned for her even though she's not one of those wealthy ones." shin hye's mom said when she laughed.

"what are you talking about?" the guy curiously asked.

"she's the first one who got accepted there even though she was so called...first commoner?"

"co...co...commoner? wait..if everybody knows this, she will be in trouble for sure!" the guy worriedly thought the he suddenly hung up the phone.

"he's so nice of him to ask if shin hye's alright but it's so rude that he suddenly hung the phone without letting me know."

"who is it this time?" shin hye's mom wondered.

"yeoboseyo?"

"annyeonghaseyo, may i talk to shin hye please?" another guy called.

"oh my, i forgot to ask the name of the other person who's calling for shin hye! I better ask this one." shin hye's mom thought.

"who is this?"

"Lee Donghae. I'm shin hye's cla-..."

"ahhh! you're the one shin hye's talking about! you're her first friend in Hyupsung High School!" she said that made donghae smile when he listened to her.

"really? uhmm...may I talk to shin hye?"

"ohh...right..mianhaeyo. actually she's sleeping right now, but i can wake her-..."

"oh don't! I...don't even want to call in such a late night. I just want to ask if she's feeling better right now." dong hae said.

"waah~ you're really concerned for her donghae'ssi. she already took her medicine and a few more rest then she can go back to school in no time." she replied.

"ahh. that's good. then please tell shin hye to take care of her health from now on." donghae said.

"ahh. arasseo. kumawaeyo for checking if shin hye's okay." she thanked him.

RING! RING!

"again?"

"yeoboseyo?"

"annyeonhaseyo, may I talk to your daughter, Miss Park Shin Hye, if you may?" another guy called.

"oh! who is this well knowledge classmate of shin hye who is concerned of her so much? and how did you know that I'm her mother? I have never even heard about you." she asked when she noticed that this classmate of shin hye speaks so well trained.

"I'm Jung Yong Hwa. me and shin hye are a lot alike. I only began to be friends with her the other day." he said.

"ahhh. shin hye is sleeping right now, but i could really wake her up."

"oh no. gwaenchanhayo. I just want to know if shin hye is really asleep at this hour. shin hye must need some rest, and i'm sure you need some rest too. joesonghabnida. I'm going to hung up."

"ahhh ye. kumawaeyo for being so concerned to shin hye." she thanked him.

"well she does caught my attention." he said that made her laugh.

"then have a good night sleep." she said then they both hung up.

"what a lovely guy. shin hye's so lucky. he must be very rich." she thought.

RING! RING!

"oh! another guy? I wonder who it is?"

"yeoboseyo?"

"aunt! can I talk to shin hye please!" shin hye's friend, min ji, called.

"min ji? I thought it's another guy calling if shin hye's okay, but it's just you." she said.

"EH!? is shin hye sick!? did one of her classmate made her sick!?" min ji worriedly asked nonstop.

"I don't really know. shin hye never told me anything." she said.

"pabo shin hye. by the way aunt, you just said that guys calling her if she's okay, what do you mean by that? Even in Hyupsung High School there are guys whom likes shin hye!?" min ji asked curiously yet happy.

"wait, you mean there are also guys who likes shin hye in Suji High School!? Shin hye's so lucky." she got shocked.

"aunt! can i just talk to shin hye please!" min ji said.

"she's sleeping right now." she said.

"eomma...who are the ones keep calling? can't even sleep." shin hye asked as she went down the stairs seeing her mom still talking to someone on the phone.

"ahhh...min ji wants to talk to you." she said.

"min ji?" shin hye asked.

"pabo shin hye! who are you to push yourself like this!? you didn't even tell your mom that they're bullying you!" min ji yelled at her as soon as shin hye answered her call.

"yah...no ones bullying me, it's the truth. this...just happened. i don't even...know why this happened in such...short..notice." shin hye said.

"see!? you can't even talk to me straightly! you still have to take care of yourself you know!" min ji scolded.

"arasseo! arasseo! did you call to ask me if I'm okay?" shin hye asked.

"wait, you mean to say that it's true that there are guys who are concerned for you and called you just a while ago?" min ji curiously asked.

"what do you mean by that? what guys?" shin hye curiously and also confusingly asked.

"what do you mean what guys? aunt just said that there were guys who were calling if you were okay. they must be really in to you." min ji said.

"yah! min ji! I have no idea what you are talking about! if that's not the reason why you called then what is it?" shin hye got disappointed and changed the subject.

"oh yeah! I won a prize by going to europe with my friend and everyone became nice to me just so they can persuade me to go to europe with them but i would definitely go with you shin hye! since that's our favorite country that we've been dying to go." min ji explained.

"really? but what should I do? I'm already sick right now and my mom won't even let me to school." shin hye said.

"don't worry! the trip is next month and i'm sure you're already feeling much better by that. isn't it exciting!" min ji said with full of excitement.

"that's good! call me if i need to get ready. good night." shin hye and min ji both hung up the phone.

"can't wait! I can't believe me and my BFF would finally go to europe! by the way, what did she say about guys who called if i'm okay?" shin hye thought.

Chapter 9

2 days later and shin hye can finally go back to school.

"wahhh~ it's good to be back to school." shin hye thought.

"so you finally show up" a voice pops out from behind.

shin hye turned around and saw a familiar guy.

"J..J..J..Jang Geun Suk'ssi?" shin hye wondered.

"don't tell me you don't know me! everyone knows me but why are you bringing that unfamiliar look?" geun suk coldly said.

"joesonghabnida. I got sick and-.."

"i know i know! next time you take care of your condition first. and...mianhaeyo...about last time." geun suk sincerely said and quickly left her.

"are...you saying that you...care about me? what is this? this feeling is...weird like i've never felt before. is this the feeling they called..love?" shin hye thought.

"shin hye! shin hye! you're back!" donghae yelled when she shin hye going upstairs.

"oh! donghae! it's good to see you again." shin hye smiled at him.

"I was worried that you would took long to recover your health." donghae said.

"me too. by the way, what happened to the news about Choi Soo Joon'ssi?" shin hye asked.

"geun suk'ssi said that we need to hear yours first." donghae said that changed his expression inside of him.

"ah-..ahh...is that so? when is it?" shin hye said feeling uneasy.

"This afternoon." donghae replied.

"arasseo" shin hye approve.

"shin hye! are you okay now?" yong hwa asked shin hye as she went out of her classroom.

"I'm okay now. it's good to see you." shin hye said.

"you're gone in 2 days and you recovered so quickly, but it's like you've been gone here for a year already and it's like nothing happen" yong hwa said.

"does it seems so? well, it does seem like it." shin hye said.

"oh man. I don't wanna tell her that i've miss her for the past 2 days." yong hwa thought.

"let's go to the rooftop, yong hwa. donghae is already waiting for us." shin hye said.

"oh righ-.."

"oppa! oppa!" so eun yelled as she ran towards yong hwa.

shin hye looked down at her and remembered the reason why she became like last time.

"oppa, the A4's are waiting for you at the table." so eun said.

"sorry I ca-..."

"you go ahead yong hwa. they're already waiting for you." shin hye interrupts as she holds yong hwa's arm and lets go when she finished what she was saying.

"shi-...shin hye!" yong hwa called out but so eun promptly attached her hand to his arm "gaja, oppa!".

"so this is a feeling of liking someone you don't wanna lose." yong hwa thought as he glances at shin hye's back.

"donghae!" shin hye called out when she made to the rooftop.

"shin hye! where have you been? your food is getting cold." donghae said.

"ahh...I went to the restroom." shin hye said.

"you're lying right now, I didn't even see you passing the restroom." donghae worriedly thought.

"eat up." donghae gave her food to her.

"so, where's yong hwa?" donghae asked that made shin hye froze.

"oh..that, so eun suddenly appear so yong hwa goes to eat with the A4." shin hye said.

"so he's not going to be with us anymore." he said hoping for a yes.

"maybe. he is a member of the A4." shin hye replied.

It became quiet so suddenly that all they can hear is the wind.

"wahh~ It's delicious~ isn't it?" shin hye said to change the mood.

"yeah. It's delicious." donghae said but with worried thoughts.

My phone rang as I walk through the hallway. I put it out of my pocket and looked who might be calling. "It's min ji!" as I saw the name I quickly answered it.

"min ji!"

"shin hye! is you condition alright now? please tell me it's alright, please tell me it's alright!" min ji said.

"umm..I'm alright?" shin hye said with a smile on her face like she's about to laugh.

"not literally! just tell me the truth." min ji said with a sad expression.

"yah! min ji! I'm at school!" shin hye said as she laughs.

"you're still si-...wait...you've recovered!? yes! I have to tell you something...." min ji said.

"what is it? Is the trip going to be cancelled?" shin hye asked as she stopped by the window.

"that's the thing, the tri-...."

"IT'S CANCELLED!?" shin hye asked shockingly.

"pabo shin hye! it's not cancelled!" min ji yelled.

"that's good. mianhae. I'm really excited on going on a trip to europe and i've been thinking some bad things about it." shin hye apologized.

"so what are you going to tell me?" shin hye asked.

"I said last time that the trip to europe is next month right? It has said that the trip moved on friday. I was worried because I thought you were still sick at that time. Since you're okay now I could just remind you to pack before it comes." min ji explained.

"really!? wait....friday is...the day after tomorrow!? I can't wait!" shin hye said.

"oh and by the way, I'm going to your school for a permission. and especially, I can't wait to see you again!" min ji said.

"I can't wait too! well see you tomorrow, min ji!" shin hye said as they both hung up.

"wahh~ I'm so excited that I can't help myself from smiling." shin hye said.
