Chapter 4

i walked along the corridor and noticed something in an empty room. i checked again and i saw that it was a lovely expensive piano. i'm good at playing it. but i never want strangers to look at me playing it. it might be him, disguising himself as a person i don't even know. if i play it to him, i might get hurt more, that's why i stopped my piano lessons since i was a kid. he comes back to my mind again whenever i see that strange looking piano. i might as well just ignore it and continue my life.

break time is over but the teacher is not yet in here. i don't have any female friends here and it's just like i'm invisible right now. everyone keeps on talking whenever the teacher is not yet here but i keep on looking at the window doing nothing and my fingers went tapping on my desk just like i'm playing the piano. i will get hurt even more if i continue being like that.

maybe there is a way that i can play the piano without letting myself get hurt. there is a solution hidden somewhere near, i hope i could find it before time runs out. i only got accepted here because no one reached higher than my scores but i'm already used to it so there's no point about like others celebrating because you got accepted in a expensive and high rank school for the first time in your life. i guess that's my life.

classes are over and the students all went home now. i guess nobody will see that i'm playing the piano this late. i can't believe how it felt good if this school is peaceful and not that every time that it's break time they always get ready to talk randomly. while i walk through the corridor, i looked at the windows seeing the sun sets beautifully and how the trees swaying because of the wind. i opened the room where the piano was set, and it's like sitting there waiting for someone to play it because it was lonely. what should i play?


even though no one is watching me play, i could still feel that he's still standing there and listening to the music of the piano. how i wish i could see him. how much i missed him. how many times i hurt myself when i think about you while i play this piano.

dong hae is already at his home then he suddenly remembered...

"ahhhh!! i forgot my camera!" dong hae panic and rushed to the door.

"ahjussi, i left my camera at school, don't tell the guards to look after me. i'll come back as soon as i can." dong hae said to his butler.

"ye. young master." his butler confirmed with respect.

dong hae only ran towards the school and he got there while catching his breath.

"aishhh! why do i have to be so forgetful!" dong hae said to himself then he opened the gate and suddenly...he hears a piano lullaby and it must be inside the classroom.

dong hae ran and finds his camera then he looked at their classroom then he sees it at his desk.

"i think this needs a leash." he sarcastically said then again he hears the piano playing a bit louder and it seems it's like it's near to their classroom.

he tiptoes when he hears it a little bit louder while carrying his camera.

he peeks inside and sees a girl playing the piano gracefully.

"who is that girl?" dong hae wonders himself and takes a picture without any flash or sounds. he didn't leave yet, he can't get himself move because of that beautiful lullaby that he can't get enough of it.

I arrived early again to school. well this is life. can't change it anyway.

i saw a hundreds of people looking at the bulletin board. "what are they looking up to?" shin hye wondered.

I decided to peek on it. i see a picture of...A GIRL PLAYING A PIANO YESTERDAY!!!???

"who...who...who took this picture yesterday?"

"i did" dong hae said with confident that made her glare at him.

"uhhh...i'll remove it if you want..." dong hae said nervously.

*sigh* "gwaenchanha, there's nothing wrong on what you did anyway." shin hye said.

"that's a relief" dong hae said.

"what's this news about a girl playing so gracefully the piano yesterday?" shin hye asked while feeling guilty of lying.

"when you were not here, no one played the piano that gracefully or should i say no one played the piano when you were not here." dong hae explained.

"is that so"

"mwo? some girl played my piano gracefully?" geun suk asked cool-looking.

"dong hae'ssi seems to went back here yesterday when he accidentally left his camera at his classroom." soo jin informed.

"someone finally used the piano" so eun said.

"who is this girl? let me give them a challenge." geun suk smirked.

"shin hye'ah, geun suk has an announcement." dong hae said to shin hye.

"announcement?"

"you have seen the news about the girl who played my piano, right?" geun suk asked devilishly.

"his piano?" shin hye wondered.

"there will be a challenge tomorrow on who is the real girl who played gracefully yesterday." geun suk informed.

"heh!?" shin hye got shocked.

"the judges are the A4 and Lee Dong Hae'ssi." geun suk said.

"heh!? me!?" dong hae said while pointing to himself.

"dong hae, do you know about this?" shin hye asked.

"no i don't" dong hae said to her.

"if all the girls are missing even one, i will inform directly to my police." geun suk informed.

"police? tsk. that's impossible. that's not even a serious crime." shin hye thought.

"and don't think it's impossible, because i have the power to do anything." geun suk said.

"are you actually reading my mind!?" shin hye thought.

Chapter 5

i walked down the hallway while thinking whether i should participate the challenge or not.

"i won't do it. why does he have to tell it to the police!? is a problem touching his' piano like that? but he might not be serious about what he just said, right?" I thought while carrying her books.

on the way, she saw dong hae running towards her.

"shin hye'ah...." dong hae called her while he tries catching his breath.

"what's the matter?" I asked confusingly.

"so...are you..going to...participate in his challenge...tomorrow?" dong hae asked still catching his breath.

"i don't think his words are true. i'm just gonna let it pass by." I said but so unsure on my mind.

"he doesn't say a lie when it comes to announcements. i just came back from their meeting. he can also inform this to the parent. i heard the news last time that a kid who is an enemy to geun suk, made him expelled because of his threat." dong hae said.

"is that so? maybe i'll think about it." I said with my mind full about his announcement.

"inform it to my mom? tsk! how would he even persuade my mom just because i played his piano for a while? he sure got some guts about that. he has no right to threaten us like that!" I thought while carrying my books through the corridor then suddenly a guy runs towards me that accidentally hit me that made me drop all my books but the guy continued to ran and left me while i pick my books.

"tsk! he didn't even say sorry!" I said while glancing at the guy.

then i saw a girl standing right in front of me and i thought she was going to harass me.

"do you need a hand?" the girl thoughtfully asked.

"ye." I said while looking straightly at the girl.

while we pick up my books, i keep staring at the girl then i realized, she is the A4's No.1 Model! Park Soo Jin.

"ah-...kumawayo." shin hye quickly said when soo jin started to leave then she decided that she could just walk with her.

"did you record it last time?" geun suk asked dong hae.

"i don't have my tape recorder that time." dong hae replied nervously.

"then how are we gonna find out who it is!?" geun suk asked coldly.

"i might remember a little bit" dong hae said.

"do you want some tea, dong hae'ssi?" so eun considerately asked.

"ye. you're quite attentive Miss So Eun." dong hae commented.

"if you want anything else, don't be shy to interrogate me." so eun smiled.

"It's so easy pretending to be considerate to others." so eun said to herself.

"are you only doing that because you might influence him just by being so considerate to him?" yong hwa asked.

"oppa, you definitely not have anyone besides me. you are only mine." so eun said with eyes like a dog who needs a shelter.

"so eun, let's go eat." yong hwa changed the subject.

"oppa! do you like someone else?" so eun asked.

"so eun, my stomach is rumbling. let's go eat." yong hwa changed the subject again.

"oppa...is there someone you like?" so eun wondered the followed yong hwa.

"so what's your relationship with geun suk'ssi?" shin hye asked.

"my grandfather and his grandfather were best friends. my dad and his dad became the bestest buddies. we were always together since we were infants. when we were in preschool, he took care of me like his younger sister. he was never a rude and scary that time, when he came in to this school, he changes everything. he is my oppa, my inspiration, my first love." soo jin explained that made shin hye amazed.

"does he have the same feelings as yours?" shin hye asked inquisitively.

"i don't know about that. he only treats me as his younger sister. but i am the only one whom he treats differently." soo jin said that made shin hye understand.

"i guess we got to get back" soo jin said.

"uh-...unni!" shin hye said that made soo jin gasped.

"ca-...can i call you unni?" shin hye asked anxiously.

soo jin slowly smiled to shin hye and "sure".

The next day, is the challenge that announced by Jang Geun Suk.

Since there's no classes and it's only the challenge for today, I purposely get myself late so i won't be accepted in the challenge.

"shin hye! shin hye! aren't you going to school!?" her mom alarmed her.

I looked at my alarm clock and it's still 6:11 , which is still early since the challenge is going to start in 8:00.

"there's no classes today." shin hye said while going back to bed.

-

"eh!? shin hye is the only girl who is missing!? i'll be dead if there's even one who didn't attend the challenge." dong hae thought.

"dong hae'ssi!" geun suk called him.

"y-..ye!"

"are they all here?" geun suk asked.

"uh-...uhmm...i'm still checking." dong hae replied.

"well, hurry up!" geun suk coldly shouted.

"what do i do? what do i do!?" dong hae panicked.

-

"oh my gosh! i just remembered!" shin hye woke up suddenly and tried to remember something from yesterday.

Flashback:

"you'll make a plan so you won't be in the challenge!?" dong hae asked.

"de. there's no reason for me to attend there anyway." shin hye easily said.

"shin hye'sh...if you don't attend tomorrow, i'll be dead for sure. please help me." dong hae begged to shin hye.

"what will happen to him if i don't attend there?" shin hye wondered then at the moment she felt guilty that she's doing it for herself but how about helping your friend?

"wait a minute" shin hye checked the alarm clock again and it's still the same as before. she checked downstairs and it's already 8:01!!

"i need to go!" shin hye rapidly changed clothes and went to school.

-

"whe-...where is it held...anyway?" shin hye wondered while catching her breath.

"shin hye!!!!!!" a voice popped out from nowhere the she looked at the direction where the voice came from.

"dong hae!" shin hye got surprise to see dong hae.

"let's go" he drag shin hye where is the location and to not notice that dong hae holds shin hye's hands tighly.

"dong hae'ssi! where have you been!? have you finish checking the girls?" geun suk asked impatiently.

dong hae looked at shin hye and smiled at her. "it's already done, geun suk'ssi" dong hae said with a charming smile.

"then it's settle"

Chapter 6

"bring up the first one!"

"annyeonghaseyo. I'm Lee Sang Ri. I''m so-..." she get so excited on meeting geun suk then suddenly didn't get to finish what she was saying when geun suk ordered her to get on with it!.


"she's not bad. what do you think, oppa?" soo jin asked geun suk.

"i don't know, you so eun?" geun suk said as he passes to so eun.

"i love the song. is that the song the other day, dong hae'ssi?" so eun asked quietly to dong hae.

"it is impressive. but from what i've heard, it's not the same reflect on what she shows." dong hae explained.

"you got a point." yong hwa said.

"NEXT"

"annyeonhaseyo! I'm Han Eun Gun. I can't believe-..." she was interrupted by geun suk again then ordered her to get on with it!


"it's good" they all murmured.

"this one looks gracefully. what do you think, donghae'ssi?" so eun asked.

"it is good, but i know i heard it not that kind of speed." dong hae explained.

"it's good. NEXT"

"I'm Shin Ji Hee. it's very nice to meet you." the girl bowed and went to the piano.


"it's all messed up." soo jin said.

"it's not good." geun suk said.

so eun looks at yong hwa and realizes that he was looking one of the girls who are lined up.

"oppa...who are you looking at?" so eun asked curiously.

"piano" yong hwa replied.

"but you seem to be looking at one of the girls from the line." so eun said with a confused face.

yong hwa seems to be looking at the girls who are lined up but he is only looking at that one person.

-

70/72 girls and the judges are all seem to be very tired. soo jin's arm are on the table while her hands keeps going to her mouth because she keeps yawning, so eun keeps drawing on the table with her hands, yong hwa relaxes on his chair but his eyes are still on that person and dong hae looks at the list with the eyes like it's going to fall already but geun suk is still curious on whom really played his piano the other day.

"I'm Choi Soo Joon. I hope you like my song I am going to play." she said shyly.


"that's strange. that seems to be like it." dong hae thought while listening to the song that reminds him the other day.

"is that the one, donghae'ssi?" soo jin asked looking exhausted as ever.

"I'm not sure. but let's continue with the remaining girls." donghae replied.

"I'm Kang Ha Rim. It's nice to meet all of you." the girl said as she puts her hands together on her back and goes to the piano.


"how nice" so eun said with a swollen face.

"that still isn't her." dong hae said.

"I'm Park Shin Hye.

Donghae, Soo jin, Yong hwa are surprised because shin hye was actually the last one on the list and geun suk too who is surprised because he kind of attracted by a little girl's face. so eun is surprised then when she realize that she was the only one who doesn't know shin hye which makes her left out and she is also surprised when she sees yong hwa so happy to see a new student.

shin hye was heading towards the piano when almost every girls including shin hye individually had a call from their parents and had to go home.

"I'm safe" shin hye sighed.

"you said Choi Soo Joon seems to be the one, right? then we don't need to listen to the last girl. we'll just settle her next week." geun suk informed to donhae.

"what about shin hye? I wanted to see her play. she walked all the way here but didn't get a chance to play it." donghae thought.

I'm lying down on my bed while looking at the ceiling. That was a close one that I didn't get to participate there, But my fingers are moving again like I'm playing the piano as if i'm still at school. Maybe just one song then i'll leave. I stood up and wore my jacket then climbed down to head to school.

-

"where should I begin?" shin hye asked herself then she began to move and move her fingers.


In a moment, donghae happens to pass by with his mother's car and somehow hears it. "wait a sec."

yong hwa dries his hair after he just got out from the bathroom then suddenly shin hye came out from his mind.

"I wonder how shin hye plays the piano?" yong hwa thought.

Then he quickly changed his clothes and heads towards the school.

-

shin hye happily plays the piano while listening to her favorite song.

donghae soundlessly goes to where the piano is playing and he thinks that he might finally found out who is the real girl who plays geun suk's piano.

yong hwa made it to the gate and surprised that he actually hears this wonderful song that only plays at night and wonders, "does a ghost play here?".

then he sees a person slowly going upstairs.

"yeobseyo?" yong hwa called out that made donghae surprised.

"yong hwa'ssi, what are you doing here?" donghae asked.

"isn't it obvious?" yong hwa said with a grin.

shin hye can hear someone talking downstairs so she slowly stops playing and leaves the piano to find out.

"this is terrifying me. what if a ghost pops out near the hallway?" shin hye thought while walking nervously and slowly.

"SHIN HYE!?" two voice pops out that made shin hye's eyes widened and scared as hell.
