Stop Hunger global campaign
Park Shin Hye volunteers in Ghana for 'STOP HUNGER' campaign..
Park Shin Hye, a popular Korean actor, took part in the volunteer activity for disadvantaged people in Ghanaas part of the 9-day global campaign Stop Hunger designed to mark the 2011 World Food Day.
Park has stayed in a depressed area of Ghana to provide food supply kits for kids suffering from poverty and illnesses, and to take them to hospital in case of emergency.
In particular, Park, who has served as a patron of those who suffer from hunger, arranged a special time to meet one of the children she has given some financial support. After losing both of her parents, the little girl has lived with her grandmother. Park volunteered to be a one-day mother of the five-year-old girl, giving her a bath and doing grocery shopping together.
In an interview, Park expressed her sorry and sadness about the impoverished living condition by saying, "I felt great as I could help the little girl, but I also felt sorry for the environment they have to face every day. I really hope people get to have more interest in these poor regions and afflicted people, which will definitely be a great encouragement for them."
She also said, "I want to return back all the love I've received. I'll participate in diverse volunteer activities both at home and abroad."
